0. Video Jammin CRT.5 Mini-Truggy
Jay Halsey, from Jammin Products, sent us some video of his personal ride. He sure tore it up at the 2007 Canadian Winternationals with this little guy. Check out the video we made! We giggle everytime we watch how easily it drives and jumps...and we've watched it at least one hundred times!

1. Packaging
When we received one of the first CRT .5 Pro kits we couldn't wipe away our smiles.

3. Pre-Assembled
The kit comes 80% pre-assembled. I'm not convinced it's actually 80%. With all the work that needs to be done it's more like 30%.

4. Center Diff
This truggy is built just like the 1/8 brother. The center differential is the standard 6 gear setup with lever disc brakes. Nice!

5. Center Diff2
Here's a good shot of the front/rear brake setup. It really doesn't look much different. Also, note the molded chassis braces.

6. Front End
Notice anything here? Aside from looking exactly like the 1/8 CRT, you can see the upper front brace with a spot for a buggy body mount. Should we be expecting a 1/12 CR Mini-Buggy soon?

7. Front/Rear Diffs
The front and rear diff gears are smaller than standard diffs but work exactly the same. We disassembled the preassembled gear boxes to verify they were built correctly.

8. Chassis
Just like the 1/8 chassis, the gears lay low inside the chassis cutouts.

9. Diff Oil
Knowing how lazy some pre-assemblers can be I took the diffs apart to verify the oil fluid levels. Yeah, they were low. Jay Halsey's setup calls for 1000/1000/500wt (front/center/rear) in the diff gears.

A. Arm Mounts
All the arm mounts are CNC machined and completely adjustable via small plastic inserts to ajust angles and anti-squats. This is a nice feature. Also, the pins are all hinge pins are captured and do not need e-clips.

B. Chassis
It's the standard pan chassis setup for modern buggies and truggies.

C. Brakes
Not only are the brakes already assembled, but they have springs between the pads and the pads are pre-glued on the calipers. Awesome! Just double check the spacing of the pads.

E. Full Bearings
The mini comes with a full set of bearings. Even the steering is built with ball bearings.

F. Big Bore Shocks
The mini shocks are big bore since they are the same size as 1/10 shocks. They are threaded and assemble just like any other shock setup. Use the largest hole pistons with 60wt/40wt in the front/rear. Jay Halsey's personal setup says 60/60wt. That's a misprint.

G. 3-Shoe Clutch
The clutch is a standard-sized carbon clutch. It provides plenty of acceleration and consitency. Just watch the video in this album. This little tiger accelerates like a bat out of hell!

I. Wheels
Two sets of wheels are included in the kit. The Jammin wheels have the largest offset and use a hex mount like the Kyosho 1/10 wheels. A set of Proline wheels are also included with Associated-type mounts and provide a medium offset. You can narrow the width even more by using Kyosho ZX-5 wheels.

J. Brake Recommendation
The front brake lever could hit the fuel tank. Dremel it down a bit to prevent this.

K. Carbon Fiber Servo Tray
The CRT .5 Mini uses the standard laydown steering servo on a carbon fiber upper tray. Very nice feature. Only a handful of mini airplane servos actually fit this kit. They are listed in the instructions. We used Futaba S9650 Digital servos all around.

O. Top Adjustable Servo Saver
Jammin has recently updated the CR and CRT kits with a new Servo Saver that is ajustable from the top. The Mini is no exception to this upgrade. Now it's like the Kyosho kits.
