2. Contents
Kyosho is very good about making all the contents easy to find in their kits. The ST-R was no exception.

3. Diffs
The ST-R differentials are standard from the MP777 SP2 buggy.

4. Spur Gear
Unlike the Jammin X1-CRT spur gear, the ST-R spur is small like a 1/8 buggy spur. Also, they have lightened it.

5. Beveled Front and Rear Gears
New to the ST-R is the beveled teeth on the front and rear differentials. This can pose a problem for newbies to this kit. The front and rear gears MUST BE SHIMMED appropriately. There cannot be any play between the teeth!

6. New Brake Discs and Pads
All we can say about this new technology is 'WE LOVE IT!' I remember when the MP7.5 Kanai II came with dual disc brakes and I thought that was cool. Now, one disc is needed and these pads are stop the truggy on a dime.

7. Caliper Pads
The brake caliper pads look just like full scale auto pads. They're quite similar and we can't wait to add these to our MP777 SP2 Buggy because they work so well.

8. Clutch
The clutch setup is the same as the SP2 buggy. Standard 3-shoe alloy shoes with 1.0mm springs.

9. Radio Tray
This is nothing new from the MP777 SP2. If it works, don't change it.

A. Engine Pipe Setup
The kit does not come with an engine or pipe. This is up to you. We are running the Novarossi .28 Race with the new Jammin JP-3 pipe (not shown in photo). About the power? Holy smokes...this thing flys!

B. Front Suspension
I love the options the Kyosho rides give you concerning the setup. All we're going to say is this, "Don't judge the ride of the ST-R based off the stock setup. There is a perfect setup and you simply need to find it for each track. Once you do, you'll love this ride!"

C. Chassis Braces
Kyosho is using a new style of chassis brace for the ST-R and newer MP777's. We're really liking what Kanai comes up with and we will not be replacing this with the stiffer alloy braces anymore.

D. Front Suspension
Kyosho suspensions rock. We've always liked the smooth-as-silk shocks and geometry.

E. Rear Suspension
There's a lot of arm travel for the rear suspension. This will give you plenty of play to land those huge jumps. Note the number of shock geometry options.

Stock body and wing with Jammin X1-CR Wheels. The Jammin wheels have a 1/2 inch offset. Since the release of this kit Kyosho has made various width wheel hubs to extend the stock wheels to whatever width you want. Very cool tuning feature.

N. ST-R vs X1-CRT Front-end
Here's the fun part. We compared the ST-R with the Jammin X1-CRT. Take a look for yourselves to see the differences in geometry, setup, etc. In a nutshell, these are two different kits and they ride and drive very differently. It's up to you to find which one works best for your style.

O. ST-R vs X1-CRT Wheelbase
The Jammin has about an additional 4mm in wheelbase. Kyosho drivers now run an optional chassis that is 4mm longer or dremel 4mm from the rear hub carrier to smooth out the ST-R.
