2. Packaging
Here's how the package looked when I opened the box. Looks like some of the customers at the LHS have been rummaging through to see what the hype is about...Hey, I'd do the same :)

4. Instructions
I'll admit, I wasn't impressed with the photo-copy-stapled instructions. Kinda ghetto.

5. 6-gear Differential
The X1 CRT uses the standard 6-gear differential we have all come to know and love for so long.

6. Hub Carriers
This is the coolest design I have seen for hubs. The pin is inserted from the inside out and is secured with a bolt. There is no way this pin is going to be pulled out of the encasing. On top of this, the hubs are CNC alloy. No casting here and no screw threads to strip.

7. Chassis & Braces
I'm loving the chassis braces; double bolted to the chassis and super strong.

8. Center Diff
The Jammin X1 CRT uses a standard 3-shoe alloy clutch and bell. Notice large spur gear. Also, the brakes are fiber pads for super consistency and zero fade.

9. Fuel, Engine, & Pipe
The tank and fuel lines are easy to organize. No need to worry about lines pinching with a truggy. Also, I chose to use the RB Worlds S7 II .21 engine and Jammin' JP-2 pipe for my test run. A .26 or higher engine would be preferable.

A. Front End
Don't worry, the kit comes with a big ass bumper that I just didn't feel like putting together. I like to be able to prevent a nose-rollover by gunning the throttle when on the front two wheels. The large bumper will catch too much in my opinion.

B. Servo Saver
Argh, I can't stand low servo savers like this. But check out the lower B-block! CNC alloy everywhere on this kit!

C. Throttle Linkage
I love the brake linkage. The X1 CRT has two different brake linkage assemblies for you to chose from. Notice how the throttle servo has mounted significantly higher to compensate for the higher break levers and oversized spur gear.

D. Rear End
Instead of shock boots the Jammin' uses a small bladder and felt ring inside to keep the dirt from messing with the shock.

E. Underside
The chassis is only milled in the necessary areas for the engine, clutch, etc. But this thing is as heavy as a brick. One of the first upgrades would be to install a lightweight chassis that is milled out.

F. Engine Bolts
OK, this is one of my top gripes about this kit: the engine cannot be removed and installed again w/o having to realign the bolts. It is common to remove the engine after every run to check the clutch settings, clutch bearings, and to clean.

G. Zero C-Clips
This is my favorite feature on the Jammin X1 CRT: ZERO C-CLIPS! Everything is bolted in place.

H. Rear Wing
Tiny little wing. So cute. I think it's there for looks cause it doesn't have much downforce.

I. Ready to Go!
Everything is ready to rumble. The kit comes with Pro-line Crime Fighters mounted on 17mm dish wheels. Make sure you cut the foams to round out the edges to give the tire some body and grip.

X1-CRT First Run
For our test run we ran the Jammin X1-CRT in our local club race last Thursday night. The track was in excellent shape and traction was extremely high.
We ran a 22.700 seconds fastest lap in the main which was also the fastest lap of any UT at the track that night. The fastest lap of the night in the 1/8 buggy class was 22.196 seconds.
Not bad for a first time out. Not to mention, we should've had a .26+ sized engine in this beast to really make it shine.
We appologize for the green truck who kept getting taken out by our truggy :) It's just too fun to let off the gas!
