OFNA/Jammin X1 CRT

Thu Sep 29, 2005 10:25AM

Despite the backorders of the new Jammin X1 CRT truggy, we have been fortunate enough to claim one of the few kits from our LHS.  Take a look at what we have discovered about this first ever National Champion truggy. Click here now!

Our Thoughts:

  • This is one bad-ass truggy.  It's strong and it is capable of eating any track along side with any other truggy on the market.
  • The stock chassis and other metal parts are a bit heavy.  OFNA/Jammin' will surely have some option parts soon to lighten this ride up.
  • We didn't have an engine any bigger than a .21 at the time of building so anything bigger will definately be better.  Watch out monster trucks!
  • The Pro-line tires are freakin' AWESOME!
  • Some of the finish work could have been a tad cleaner.  Although many parts are CNC-Alloy, they seemed, at first glance, to be cast.  Well, they're not and this is one tough rig.
  • We tore apart all the differentials to replace with fresh oil after our break-in period and only the center diff oil was broken down.  The front and rear diff oils were in good shape for another run or two.
  • We tore down the shocks as well to replace with fresh oil.  Everything was in top notch shape.  In fact, only the rear shocks were slightly broken down and dirty (slightly).  The fronts looked perfect.  So, the bladders and felt guards do work!
  • The stock shock springs will get you on the track, but they didn't keep a consistent feel.  In fact, after the break-in period, they had already lost much of their rebound ability.  Upgrade to your favorite spring!
  • We were surprised how easy this rig was to drive.  So easy.  Never traction rolled and rode the dirt like anything else on the track.  A bit more track time and tuning and we'll have this thing turning on a dime.

We just received an email from an engineer of quick release mounts for the Jammin' X1-CR buggy which also are a direct fit into the X1-CRT.  Check this out:

You mentioned in your X1 review that the engine mount setup was not
that great. Check out my website on our 2 peice quick release mounts.

We're going to go ahead and order one of these to try them out on our Jammin CRT!
